Barrow Neurological Institute, Chandler Regional’s sister organization with an east Valley office, also was among the winners with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

The selection marks Chandler Regional’s first Health Care Leadership Award. Chief Medical Officer Terry Happel, M.D., was recognized as Hospital Executive of the Year in 2009.

Last month, the magazine also announced Chandler Regional as recipient of recognition as the No. 1 Acute Care Hospital (200-339 beds) for the third year in a row, fifth time overall. Arizona Business is the state’s leading monthly business publication, covering a range of topics focusing on the Arizona business scene. It is aimed at corporate executives and business owners.

Tim Bricker, Chandler Regional’s president and CEO, said the hospital is grateful for its selection. “It is such an honor to be recognized as the 2013 hospital,” he said.

“Between our expansion project and the addition of new procedures and technology, as well as our work to add trauma services to the southeast Valley, Chandler Regional is truly the heart of health care in this community, and we’re looking forward to continuing to provide the very best care.”
