Tax Credit Deadline Dec 31st

Tempe Union High School District Offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, to collect last-minute donations.

Contributors will be treated to refreshments while they drop off their tax credit donation forms, available on the district website at http://www.tuhsd.k12.az.us/. TUHSD staff will be available to answer questions.

The Arizona Tax Credit Program (A.R.S. 43-1089.01) allows any Arizona taxpayer, regardless of whether or not they have children in school, to donate up to $400 to a school of their choice in support of extracurricular programs such as after-school clubs, sports, arts and music programs.  An individual filing their tax return may contribute up to $200, and married couples filing jointly may contribute up to $400.

A tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the actual tax owed, as opposed to a tax deduction, which reduces total taxable income from which the tax owed is calculated.

District offices are at 500 W Guadalupe Road, Tempe.
