Schools set 60-day review of recommended tradebooks

The Kyrene School District is initiating a 60-day public review of recommended additions to the Tradebook Resource List. Ten titles are under consideration for adoption. These instructional materials will be on display at the Ben Furlong Education Center, 8700 S. Kyrene Road, Tempe, through Aug. 9.

A recommendation for adoption will be made at the Governing Board meeting Aug. 10, pending the public review process. For further information, contact Nancy Southern, assistant director of curriculum and assessment design and implementation, at (480) 783-4109.

The Kyrene School District serves more than 18,500 students in kindergarten through eighth grades at 25 schools.

The district’s boundaries encompass parts of Tempe, Guadalupe, Ahwatukee, Chandler and the Gila River Indian Reservation. Kyrene accepts students who do not live within district boundaries through its Open Enrollment Program.
