Area teen cast in 1950s classic ‘Grease’

Paul Mori, a 16-year-old junior at Corona del Sol High School, plays Doodie in Desert Stages Children’s Theatre’s production of “Grease,” billed as a fun ‘50s “blast from the past.”

The production, created by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, tells the story of an improbable romance between bad boy Danny Zuko, king of the Burger Palace boys, and sweet, innocent bobby-soxer Sandy Dumbrowski.

Their summer romance goes afoul when the two unexpectedly reunite at the beginning of the school year.

The show runs Aug. 19 through Sept. 18. Paul performs at 7:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1 and 3 p.m. Sundays.

Additional show times are: 7:30 p.m. Fridays, with 1 and 3 p.m. matinees on Saturdays.

Tickets are $12-$15.
