T.W. Lewis awards 2004 scholarships

Hard work and helping others has paid off for 10 Valley high school seniors. Kyrene Corridor-based T.W. Lewis Foundation awarded the teens with college scholarships at a banquet held May 19 at the Biltmore.

Each recipient will receive $5,000 in financial aid per year for four years.

The students—selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership potential and financial need—can use the funds for expenses at the college or university or their choice.

“Education remains a top priority in our society, and these students have proven their work ethic and ambition to succeed,” says Tom Lewis, T.W. Lewis Co. founder and owner.

This is the third year for the foundation’s scholarship program. The foundation was formed in 2000 by Tom and Jan Lewis to focus the company’s charitable work and serve as a funding source for their charitable activities.
