Crisis volunteers sought
The city of Chandler is looking for a few good volunteers.
The Chandler Police Department Victim’s Assistance Program is a volunteer service that provides assistance to victims and families in crisis.
Volunteers are trained in a variety of areas, including crisis intervention, the grief process, substance abuse issues and police and fire procedures.
Training for volunteers begins Aug. 8 and runs through Sept. 19. The training takes place from 6 to 10 p.m. Monday and Thursday. One additional Saturday training class is required.
