‘Mowing for Toys’ benefits kids

Grass Guys, a local landscaping company, will give back to the community again this year by donating time during December to bring toys to children in need during the holidays.

The company is offering a “mowing for toys” service in which its crews will mow a friend’s, neighbor’s or family member’s lawn in exchange for toys.

The company will conduct the program on Saturdays Dec. 4, 11 and 18, and on other Saturdays during the month if response so indicates.

For any who would like to participate in the program as a gift for someone else and donate the toys themselves, the company will mow any lawn in the southeast Valley (permission of the owner required.)

The goal is to collect $20-$40 worth of new, unwrapped toys per yard. All toys donated during the program will be turned over to local charities by Dec. 21.

The company’s goal is to get enough toys for 100 or more children.
