The family-friendly day of tail wagging fun, which runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., is for adults, kids and well-mannered and leashed dogs.
In addition to a series of charity dog walks, Woofstock will feature food and beverages, a small off-leash dog park, vaccinations, pet adoptions and an assortment of pet-friendly vendors.

There will be caricature drawings, face painting, pet photography, a pet psychic, dog massages, raffle prizes and more.

Several local bands will perform on the Concert for Critters stage, presented by Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.

In addition, local organizations will demonstrate their sporting activities, including dog flying-disc catching, agility drills and flyball.
At noon is a Pets on Parade competition, with costumed canines vying for prizes. The first 100 owners and their dogs to get an entry number, starting at 11:30 a.m., will be able to participate in the parade.

An important part of the event is the Great Chandler Dog Walk, presented by and benefitting American Service Animal Society, a nonprofit organization dedicated to enabling disabled veterans to live a more productive life through the use of service animals.

The walk includes three distance options to fit the abilities of all pets and their owners. The three noncompetitive courses include a small, 400-yard course dubbed the Dachshund Dash; a 1-kilometer medium course called Bichon Buzz; and a 3.5-kilometer long course, the Husky Hustle. Maps of the courses are on the event Web site at www.chandleraz.gov/woofstock.
Dog Walk pre-registration is recommended and the cost to participate is $20 per dog if sign-up is completed online prior to 6 p.m. Nov. 19.

Registration on the day of the event begins at 8:45 a.m. and costs $25 per dog. Cash or checks are accepted and all participants will receive a goodie bag. To register, visit www.dogs4vets.org/woofstock.php  or call 480-802-9339.
Woofstock is presented by the American Service Animal Society, Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, and the city of Chandler.

Tumbleweed Park is on the southwest corner of Germann and McQueen roads, and admission to the event is free.
