About 40 neighborhoods have registered for the program so far.

Also known as National Night Out, G.A.I.N. encourages residents to get together in their communities to promote safety and neighborhood communication and to celebrate the successes of crime prevention through community involvement.

The Police Department’s goal for G.A.I.N. is to strengthen communities by encouraging neighbors to meet each other and to promote safer neighborhoods by increasing crime prevention and safety awareness.

Officers from divisions including Patrol, Motor Enforcement, K-9, Special Assignments, Firearms and Community Services will attend the neighborhood parties and be available to answer citizens’ questions.

Department specialty equipment will be on display at various venues.

For additional information regarding the G.A.I.N. event, contact Officer Gerard Ruhland at 480-782-4967 or Kathleen Smart at 480-782-4521 of the Chandler Police Department Crime Prevention Unit.
