Corona coach returned to job, will meet with team, parents

After concluding an extensive investigation into allegations of inappropriate language and comments made by Zane Zamenski, the head football coach at Corona del Sol High School, the Tempe Union High School District has concluded that there were instances of inappropriate comments and language used by the coach in recent weeks.

During the investigation that began immediately upon receiving the complaint, over thirty parents and students were interviewed.  District representatives met with all parents and students who wished to make statements regarding the allegations.   

Tempe Union High School District holds all employees to high standards in their relationships with students, parents and staff members and takes appropriate action when employees violate this policy.  Steps have been taken to address and correct this employee’s behavior.   Corrective action is in accordance with Governing Board Policy GBCStaff Ethics, which states, in part, that an employee of the district “makes the well-being of students the fundamental value of all decision-making and actions” and “maintains just and courteous relationships with pupils, parents, staff members, and others.” 

Corona del Sol High School’s Coach Zane Zamenski will return to the football program as head football coach on August 3, 2010.  A meeting with football program parents is scheduled for Monday, August 2nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Corona del Sol High School auditorium.  The coaching staff will meet with football students prior to practice on Tuesday afternoon, August 3rd.
