4 from Corridor elected to TCC Board of Directors

Kyrene Corridor residents Steve Bauer, Scott Doren, Leslie Evans and Jan Lewis are among newly elected members of  the board of directors of Tempe Community Council.

Bauer, president of Development Strategies, Inc., has served on the Tempe/Kyrene Communities In Schools Advisory Board, participated in agency review for the last two years and was president of the Tempe Leadership Board in 2000.

Doren, owner of Mortgage Express, was in Tempe Leadership Class 16 and is currently on the Tempe Leadership Board, a member of Kiwanis Club of Tempe and the CIS Advisory Board.

Evans works as a family therapist specializing in women’s issues and served on the Agency Review Committee in 2001 and 2002, is a senior warden at Church of the Epiphany and a member of St. Joseph’s Hospital Anxiety Disorder Group organizing committee.

Lewis, a community volunteer active in numerous youth activities, is a member of the Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Program Advisory Council and has sponsored Open Horizons Child and Family Development Center activities through her husband’s company, T.W. Lewis.

Board members serve a three-year term.

Tempe Community Council, founded in 1972, serves as the Human Services Department for the city of Tempe, which operates under staff and a 30-member volunteer board of directors. Its mission is to work as planner, researcher, educator, advocate and resource to improve funding and policies affecting human services.
