Calling all teen pirates: Save the date. One of the most popular events at the Sunset Library in west Chandler is ready to set sail Friday, Oct. 24. The pirate-themed event, Murder Among the Mateys, will take place from 7 to 10 p.m.

This is the third murder mystery held for teens at the library, and it is always a popular event. What could be better than meeting other teens in a pleasurable environment, dressing in all the latest pirate garb and working to solve an captivating whodunit?

Throw in some great eats from Chipotle Mexican Grill, and it seems like an event that is not to be missed.

During the course of the evening, all the participants will play a part on the pirate voyage as Captain Redbeard and his crew head into town to celebrate their latest plunder.

The night steers out of control when one of the unfortunate scallywags finds himself murdered at the hands of one of the other scoundrels.

The other buccaneers will have to band together to ultimately bring justice to the unsavory pirate world.

Teens between the ages of 12 and 18 can register for this event by visiting www.chandlerlibrary.org or calling (480) 782-2807.

There is no charge to share in the pirate booty, but registration is required.
