Kyrene Athletes of the Week
Jesse Olguin and Francesca (Frankie) Dicesare

Jesse Olguin is a seventh grader at Aprende Middle School and a member of the Jaguar cross-country team. He ran in the top seven as a sixth grader for the Jaguars. This season Jesse’s experience, motivation and toughness has led him to running at the number one position. Jesse was a member of the Principal’s Honor Roll with a 4.0 GPA during sixth grade and plans to continue on that same path this year. He is also a member of the Aprende orchestra where he plays the violin. In his spare time Jesse likes to skateboard and go to the movies.

Francesca (Frankie) Dicesare is a seventh grade student at Aprende Middle School and is a captain on this year’s cross-country team. She participated in cross-country and track as a sixth grader and is excelling as the top runner for Aprende’s girls cross-country team this year. As the saying goes, “big things come in small packages.” Frankie might be one of the smallest runners on the team, but she is the most competitive.

Her great leadership, hard work and determination will earn her a medal in the KAP championship meet later this fall. In her spare time Frankie participates in her church’s choir and likes to play softball.
