Museum Docent training scheduled

Kyrene Corridor residents can learn local history, meet interesting people and have fun as museum docents at the Tempe Historical Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave., Tempe.

Volunteer docents lead tours of the museum’s exhibit hall and present information to visitors.

Volunteers can help represent the community and become part of this important volunteer program by completing just 15 hours of training.

Training is free and all materials are provided. Training is offered twice a year, with the next class scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings, Oct. 16 through Nov. 1.

All classes start at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday classes run until 7:30 p.m. and Thursday classes until 8:30.

Once training is completed, hours of service are flexible.

To find out more or to discover other volunteer opportunities available at the museum or with the city of Tempe, call the Volunteer Office at (480) 350-5190.
