Thanksgiving service aids homeless
Area churches will join in an annual community-wide Thanksgiving Interfaith Service designed to provide emergency assistance for Tempe’s homeless.
The service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at this year’s host site, First Congregational Church of Tempe, 101 E. Sixth St.
All collections from the service will go toward providing emergency assistance for the homeless. Collection boxes will be available for donations of non-perishable, canned food items.
The program is sponsored by Tempe Emergency Assistance Ministry, a coalition of Tempe clergy and social service agencies.
Tempe Community Council provides administrative and staff support for the program.
