Little Leaguers make Series

Chandler Little Leaguers were in Williamsport, Va., this weekend for a rare shot at youth baseballís most prized competition: the Little League World Series.

The local team won its final game last week in San Bernardino, Calif., marking only the fifth time in history that an Arizona team has gone all the way to the series.

At the Tuesday night finals, an exuberant crowd of 12,000 fans, including Chandler Councilman Dean Anderson, cheered the home team to a 2-0 victory.

Games in the upcoming series were due to begin this weekend and continue into next week.

They will be aired on cable channel ESPN.
