Sunday, May 8, is Mother’s Day and it’s right around the corner. Whether you want to celebrate the day religiously or with a nice meal, here are some options to help you pay that perfect tribute to Mom.

Churches

Arizona Community Church—All services on Mother’s Day will include special recognition acknowledging mothers. Services: 8:30 a.m.; 9:50 a.m.; 11:15 a.m. On Saturday May 7, the church will offer a special Mother’s Day Tea Party from 1. to 3:30 p.m. 9325 S. Rural Road, Tempe. (480) 491-2210.

Christ Life ChurchEach service will include a special program given by a long-time friend of the pastor. The Mother’s Day speech honors not only mothers, but all women.

St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church—The church will hold masses on Mother’s Day bringing attention to the special day. Masses: 7 a.m.; 8:30 a.m.; 10:15 a.m.; noon.; 5:30 p.m. 3450 W. Ray Road, Chandler. (480) 899-1990.

St. James Church Episcopal—The church will offer a Mother’s Day recognition during its services. Services: 8:30 a.m.; 10:30 a.m. 975 E. Warner Road, Tempe. (480) 345-2686.

Restaurants

Cheesecake Factory—The Cheesecake Factory will offer its Sunday Brunch on Mother’s Day starting at 8 a.m. How about some smoked salmon or maybe a stack of French toast? Abbey Gardens—Here’s an idea that will take Mom on a delightful journey back in time: The local dining and gift establishment’s annual Mother’s Day Tea, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7. Call (480) 730-1819 for information and reservations. 1837 W. Guadalupe Road, Mesa.

Coco's Restaurant—You can’t go wrong with Coco’s. Take mom here for traditional homestyle cookin’. Choose from favorites on their breakfast, lunch or dinner menu. Don’t forget to end the meal with a warm slice of homemade apple pie! 1525 W. Elliot Road, Tempe. (480) 496-5777.
