Aztecs go co-ed for fund-raiser

Wrangler News photos by Kris Cartwright

April 15, 2006

Boys and girls track teams united at Basha High School during the weekend of April 8. Many teams competed in the Basha Relays, a co-ed track meet.

Corona's co-ed discus team, comprised of two boys and two girls, took first place as well as set a new school record. The theme of the day was "It's Better Co-ed," as exemplified on t-shirts available at the meet.

Not only did the two sexes work together on the track but afterwards teamed up for another venture: at the Union 76 station at Warner and Elliot and the Mobil at Rural and Ray, to work on a fund-raising carwash. In the end, the Aztec boys and girls raised $2,500.
