Corona del Sol Choir donations

Corona’s Choir gave back more than their outstanding musical talent this holiday season during a performance Nov. 30 at Arizona Mills Mall in Tempe. All the student members bought Christmas Angels for families in need this holiday season.

The Christmas Angel program is coordinated by the Salvation Army in malls throughout the Valley. Children in need identify items they would like for Christmas. Volunteers add the gift wishes to an angel that is then hung on a Christmas tree in the mall.

Shoppers can choose to purchase a gift wish and leave it at a booth located next to the tree. The gifts are then wrapped and delivered to the lucky child before Christmas.

Corona’s choir is under the direction of Greg Herbert, who also has been guest conductor of the Arizona Junior High School All-State Honor Choir and the Greater Phoenix Honor Choir. He also will be a guest conductor at the upcoming Southeastern Arizona Regional Honor Choir Feb. 19-20.
